This week is the annual Date Festival in Indio, the town next to Palm Springs. Dates, the food, are really big out here…. Anyway, they have bands each night, so Amy and I went out to hear Third Eye Blind this past Sunday night. They also have tons of rides and food. It reminded me of the South Carolina State Fair a little bit. Very Fun!

La Holla Seal Sighting
Before we drove back to Palm Springs, we stopped of the coast of La Holla to see the seals well known to the area. This time of year the mother seals are on shore waiting to give birth to little seal pups.
I think this seal was carrying twins….
Surfs Up
One of our days in San Diego, James got to leave work early to take us surfing. He lives on the harbor in Coronado and a quick walk to a surfing spot. I was so excited. It was my first time to touch the Pacific Ocean for one, and to be able to surf made it all that much more exciting. After surfing, we went back to warm up from the freezing water, then headed back to the beach to watch the sunset.
SAN DIEGO ZOO
This past weekend, my friend Alexis came to visit Amy and I. We decided to head to San Diego since our friend James and see the city. Our first stop was the San Diego Zoo.

VILLAGE FEST
Amy, Meleah, and I have begun a Thursday night ritual. Each Thursday evening the Palm Springs downtown area closes for Village Fest. Vendors have tents lining both sides of the street selling all kinds of different foods, paintings, jewelry, pottery, and random knick knacks.
